Joseph Taylor (1795-1885) & Rebecca Way Taylor (1799-1890) were the parents of Bayard Taylor (1825-1878), an American poet, literary critic, translator, travel author, and diplomat. This privately published work celebrates the Golden Wedding, i.e. the 50th wedding anniversary, of Joseph and Rebecca. Most likely, there was a gathering in order to celebrate the impressive milestone & these books were made to hand-out to guests. The inscription in this works assigns the recipient as Anna Monaghan (it appears she signed her name below the inscription in pencil). The bulk of the inscription was probably written by Rebecca, but it appears Joseph signed his name due to slightly different hand-writing and bolder ink. Rebecca was known as selfless, pure of character, and a great favorite in her community, known as "Aunt Rebecca" to all. Incredibly scarce with all album photos intact & inscription. GIFT QUALITY!
