A propos de cet article

4, 342 [i.e. 340] pages, [6] leaves of plates : illustrations. Second edition, a re-issue of the sheets of the first edition (Evans 14440), leaves re-issued without the list of subscribers and appendix; this copy was originally incomplete, as it lacked the title, the engraved dedication to John Ellis, and the folding table of Georgia exports formerly bound before page 104. This copy is illustrated with all six full-page engravings, this re-issue did not include the three maps that appeared in the first edition; see ESTC W37501. 6 plates Avena aquatica Sylvestris, Characteristick Chicasan head, Characteristick Chactan Busts (signed B. Romans Fecit), untitled (Choctaw funeral platform - signed B. R. inv et fecit), Characteristick head of a Creek War Chief (signed B. Romans fecit), untitled (Two hieroglyphic paintings - signed B. R. fecit). Dedicated to John Ellis. Most plates engraved by Romans. Error in paging: page numbers 176-177 omitted in pagination.…
