A propos de cet article

Two volume set of an uncommon local history for Iuka and Tishomingo County in northeastern Mississippi abutting both Tennessee and Alabama. Both hardcover, H 22.25cm x L 14.75cm, uniformly bound in dark olive buckram cloth with bright gilt stamping to their spines and front boards. Neither volume with a dust jacket (likely as issued). *** VOLUME I [1971]: i-ix, 10-333 pages. Pages 155-160 have shallow dings at their top margins; interior pages are otherwise bright and clean; binding remains fairly crisp. With Preface, Acknowledgements essay, Foreword by Lucy Jourdan Roane, and b/w photographs. Text comprised of "Part One" local history section and "Part Two" biography section (pages 101-333). Likely this copy is a second printing (issued in conjunction with Vol. II) as past inventory copies have had the imprint of Bossier City, Louisiana printer Everett's Bindery whereas this copy does not. *** VOLUME II [1983]: i-xii,1-348 pages. Probable first edition (no direct statement provided) DATED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR - "Iuka Miss 9-20-'83 | Autrey W. Mangum" on the front free endpaper; interior pages are bright and clean; binding remains fairly crisp. Copyright statement label on page ii overlaid upon misprinted statement; author's Preface on page vi-vii notes the Louisiana firm having published Vol. I. but no declaration as to the contracted printer/publisher for Vol. II nor the Vol. I reprint. Foreword by W.S. Brown, Jr. and Acknowledgements essay. Compilation of 80 essays regarding various facets of local history by numerous contributors. *** Please note that this set has an approximate shipping weight of 3.5 pounds (1.58 kg) and may require additional postage for any postal class other than domestic Media Mail. {MS-Set#4}. …
