Later sheep-backed marbled boards, gilt-ruled spine, compartments in blind, black morocco spine label, marbled endpapers. Wear to foredge and corners of boards, stab marks in exterior leaves, else very good. Henrey 1062: "The preface of the edition of 1787 and also the preface to most later editions is signed by the real author or only author of the book, John Abercrombie." Lists of plants arranged in categories (annuals, kitchen garden, hot house, flowering plants, fruit trees, etc.) The standard reference of its day.
