Library copy with expected inserts and inscriptions. Inscribed to front endpaper 'presented to library of Royal Burgh of Haddington by the author'. Contains black and white photographic plates and illustrations. Pages are mildly tanned with mild foxing. Heavy tanning to endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges. First five pages are moderately loose. Visible thumb-marking present. Mild water staining to pages throughout. Library stamps to reverse of some plates. Boards have heavy edgewear with corner crushing and splitting with visible board; heavy marking to boards. Heavy tanning to board edges and spine, which has moderate crushing and tearing to ends.
