A propos de cet article

Roald Dahl Matilda (Signed Bookplate) First Guild Publishing Edition (1988), London issued by arrangement with Jonathan Cape Ltd. Not the Jonathan Cape first trade edition. A highly desirable Roald Dahl collectible, finely presented in a 1988 Guild Publishing Edition with its original dust jacket and classic Quentin Blake illustrations. This copy contains a professionally authenticated Roald Dahl hand-signed mounted bookplate, neatly positioned and secure within the volume. Authenticity: Accompanied by a professionally issued Letter of Authenticity from a recognised and approved dealer. Also includes formal insurance documentation for secure replacement coverage (insurance paperwork is for ownership protection and not the same as retail collectible pricing). Condition: A clean, bright and attractive example. Very mild age tone to the dust jacket, as expected for a 1988 copy, but internally tight, tidy and well-preserved, with crisp text and illustrations. The signature is strong, clearly legible, and professionally mounted. Provenance & Presentation: A charming Dahl collectible and a scarce survivor in this presentation. Signed copies of Matilda, even mounted, are highly sought-after, especially when paired with a clean early Guild Publishing copy and original dust jacket. Shipping: Packed professionally, double-wrapped and shipped with full tracking, signature on delivery, and appropriate insurance. Royal Mail Special Delivery (UK) available. International tracked and insured delivery. International orders are shipped using tracked and insured services such as Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed or DHL Express, depending on destination and value. Books are packed securely to ensure safe transit. A rare opportunity to acquire an authenticated Dahl Matilda in a clean 1988 edition with original jacket ideal for collectors, institutions, teachers, librarians or Dahl enthusiasts. Description de la boutique

I am Roshni, the heart behind a little whimsical antique book shop that has finally found its way into the world. This dream began long before I realised it. As a child, I spent countless afternoons wandering the public library with my mum, breathing in the scent of old paper and disappearing into stories. I did not know what rare books were then or that first editions even existed. I only knew that stories made me feel safe and understood. Years later, I held my first antique book in my hands and felt something shift. The worn cloth, the gilt on the cover and the soft pages shaped by many readers created a feeling I never forgot. It was as if the past reached out and touched me for a moment. That spark became the beginning of my love for old books. After my mum passed, bookshops became a place of comfort. Every creaky floorboard, every leaning shelf and every gilt spine felt like a doorway where I could step out of the world and simply breathe. Books became sanctuary and escape, and caring for these old volumes became something gentle and meaningful. It still feels like a privilege to look after these little works of art. Sometimes I imagine Jane Austen or the Brontë sisters smiling at the thought of their stories travelling across time and still finding new readers today. Antique books are more than stories. They create atmosphere, warmth and character. They add magic to a room and make even the quietest corner feel special. I love offering books for a range of budgets so everyone can experience a little bookish magic. Thank you for being here and for stepping into this small world I am creating.…
