Rowland Hilder is one of England s most loved watercolour painters and the subject of two best sellers, Rowland Hilder s England and Rowland Hilder Country. Hilder was born in 1905 on Long Island, New York, of British parents. The family returned to England in 1915 and Hilder studied at Goldsmiths College where he was taught by Edmund J. Sullivan.
