A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
In celebration of Batman's 75th anniversary, DC Comics is proud to present a special box set collecting three of the most popular and critically acclaimed graphic novels starring The Dark Knight at a special low price. This box set collects trade paperback volumes of BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, BATMAN: HUSH and BATMAN: THE COURT OF OWLS.
Frank Miller's BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS was hailed as a groundbreaking moment in comic storytelling. It opens ten years after an aging Batman has retired and Gotham City has sunk deeper into decadence and lawlessness. Now as his city needs him most, the Dark Knight returns in a blaze of glory. Facing off against his two greatest enemies, the Joker and Two-Face for the final time, Batman finds himself in mortal combat with his former ally, Superman, in a battle that only one of them will survive. This collection is considered a comics masterpiece and was responsible for the launch of the Batman movies.
BATMAN: HUSH is a thrilling mystery of action, intrigue, and deception penned by Jeph Loeb (BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN) and illustrated by comics superstar Jim Lee (JUSTICE LEAGUE VOL. 1: ORIGIN, SUPERMAN UNCHAINED) in which Batman sets out to discover the identity of a mysterious mastermind using the Joker, Riddler, Ra's al Ghul and the Dark Knight's other enemies - and allies - as pawns in a plan to wreak havoc.
Following his ground-breaking, critically acclaimed run on DETECTIVE COMICS, writer Scott Snyder (AMERICAN VAMPIRE, SWAMP THING, THE WAKE) alongside artist Greg Capullo (Spawn) begins a new era of The Dark Knight as with the relaunch of Batman, as a part of DC Comics—The New 52!
After a series of brutal murders rocks Gotham City, Batman begins to realize that perhaps these crimes go far deeper than appearances suggest. As the Caped Crusader begins to unravel this deadly mystery, he discovers a conspiracy going back to his youth and beyond to the origins of the city he's sworn to protect. Could the Court of Owls, once thought to be nothing more than an urban legend, be behind the crime and corruption? Or is Bruce Wayne losing his grip on sanity and falling prey to the pressures of his war on crime?
BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS collects issues #1-4 of the original miniseries.
BATMAN: HUSH collects issues #609-619, as well as the 6-page segment from Wizard #0 and a 2-page origin story that originally appeared at dccomics.com.
BATMAN VOL. 1: THE COURT OF OWLS collects issues #1-7 of BATMAN (NOTE: The reader will experience the story from Batman’s viewpoint on pages #108-117).

Frank Miller began his career in comics in the late 1970s and rose to fame while first drawing, and then writing, Daredevil for Marvel Comics. He was also the creative force behind Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, and Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again. His many works have not only redefined classic characters, but also, on a few occasions, revitalized the comics industry. His creator-owned Sin City hit the page in 1991, and then the silver screen in 2005 — with Miller on board as co-director. His multi-award-winning 300 graphic novel was brought to full-blooded life in the 2007 motion picture of the same name, and in 2008 he directed the feature film of Will Eisner’s The Spirit.
Jeph Loeb is an Emmy award nominated and Eisner award winning writer/producer living in Los Angeles. In television, his many credits include Smallville, Lost and Heroes and in film, Teen Wolf and Commando. In comics, he is best known for his work with the supremely talented artist and partner-in-crime TIM SALE on BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN, SUPERMAN FOR ALL SEASONS,CATWOMAN: WHEN IN ROME for DC as well as Daredevil Yellow, Spider-Man Blue and Hulk Gray for Marvel.
