All my life I have felt as if God has been right there. I remember a time when I was about 5 years old and I went outside one night to take out the trash. It was then that I heard Him talk to me for the first time. I remember looking up at the pitch black sky. I don't remember seeing the stars, but I do remember seeing the prettiest colors smeared across the sky; that was the first and last time I have ever seen the sky that way. I started running towards the house as fast as I could. I was not afraid of His voice. I now realize I was running from His calling. People seem to be drawn to me for advice. Because of this, I am constantly praying that my advice will comfort them and they will find my words to be "as sweet as honey" and "as satisfying as a good meal." Simply put, I love to help others. Life is complicated and through my writing and teaching I try to help people figure things out. I have come to realize that my ability to work with and help people is a gift given to me from God. I am a retired veteran. I served 23 years in the United States Army, working as both a Personnel Management Specialist and a Senior Paralegal. I have a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. I am currently working on a master's degree in Counseling with a minor in Victim Advocacy.
