Synopsis
Suzanne Robins is the early morning traffic reporter on a local San Francisco radio station. Although divorced and single for years, she is content with her opinionated, reclusive, well choreographed routine. “I’m going to grow old naturally,” she affirms. That is until just a few weeks before her big 6-0 birthday when Suzanne develops a series of panic attacks. A high profile psychiatrist diagnoses Suzanne with a classic case of thanatophobia: the fear of dying alone. “OhmyGod...just like my mother!” Dr. Markowitz tells Suzanne that she must “face her fear” and prescribes a treatment: plan your funeral. But, Suzanne believes the panic attacks are a “wake up call” to get a life! A second chance at love. “Think about it, if I have a MAN in my life, I won’t die alone!” Failing therapy, she recruits Jill--who was Phil, to be her dating coach. Who else knows men from both sides. And Jill, haughtily beautiful, also wants to date men. Jill takes Suzanne from Uggs to Armani and Jimmy Choo. From plain Jane to sexy, sensual and HOT! She introduces Suzanne to the exciting dating world of Baby Boomers, Match.com, and the “foodie” hangouts of San Francisco. Chapters deal with women’s issues: hormones, plastic surgery, self- image, traveling alone. Written in a contemporary, breezy, amusing style, with vivacious dialogue, and edgy stories based on true events--bad hair, Botox, plastic surgery, marriage, the "ex", the younger woman, the older man (their loose skin, belly fat, body projectiles), boy-toys and pleasure f--------.
