Synopsis
A Can of Nuts is just that...short stories, poem, essays and fish stories. Some are very funny, some will make you stop and think and some will make you feel good. There is a tribute to his adopted father, Jim L. Anglin, who was a song writer and a very early influence in the writer's life both as a person and a lover of music. The essays have subjects far ranging from the treatment of African Americans in the 1950's to what's good to eat for the holidays. The short stories just as varied in nature. One is about a murder while one is about a holiday gathering of a family whose members come from far away to be with their parents and siblings. Some of the poems are heart felt while others are of a whimsical nature. One outstanding entry is "Homeless". For the lighter side there is a selection of fishing stories that come from Arkansas to Georgia to Florida and Tennessee. Most are actually true but some are, let's say, enhanced. Altogether, it is a good read. Enjoy!

Biographie de l'auteur
He was born in 1945 and raised in Nashville, TN in the shadow of the Grand Ole Opry. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and was able to go to many exciting places such as Alaska, Australia, Hawaii and Viet Nam. He also was stationed in several states including Arkansas (2 times). Georgia, Texas, South Carolina and Tennessee. He met and got to know people from many varied backgrounds and cultures. When he retired from the Air Force he went into Law Enforcement as a dispatcher. He worked in Shelbyville, Tennessee as a dispatcher for the Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Goodletteville, Tennessee, Millersville, Tennessee, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Tullahoma, Tennessee Police Department as a Public Service Officer. In 2003, he decided to go to college. He first attended Motlow State Community College and transferred to Middle Tennessee State University. He majored in Liberal Studies with double minors in Southern Studies and Writing. Wide and varied experiences have given him a solid background for writing this book.
