Art Evans began his automotive career as a sports car racer during the 1950s. He went on to run a public relations and advertising company representing automotive-related enterprises, serve as a director for the SCCA, publish Sports Car Journal magazine, produce and direct motion pictures, teach photography, and work as a cinematographer on commercials. He has also authored a number of books about motorsports, many covering his close friend Carroll Shelby.
Carroll Shelby needs no introduction to automotive and racing enthusiasts throughout the world. From successful and celebrated Sports Illustrated race car driver of the year, to 24 Hours of LeMans winner, to the developer of the AC Cobra, to the Shelby nameplate on some of the most desirable Mustangs ever built, to philanthropist with the Shelby Heart Foundation, he has no equal in automotive lore. Shelby passed in 2012 as this book was being created.
