Jim is a lifelong car nut who got his start in a neighborhood auto shop while he was still in high school, where he honed his skills repairing, restoring, and modifying classic cars and trucks. He joined the car magazine world in 2006 and has been there ever since, writing about muscle cars, hot rods, trucks, Corvettes, and more, including in-depth how-to projects on a variety of classic and collector vehicles.
