Synopsis

Were you raised to eat healthy? Few, if any, of us were. We eat based on what we know. But if we’re going to experience a long and healthy life, we must learn to take care of ourselves and change our eating practices.
In Live, Beloved, Live, author Dr. Robbin Alston compels us to let go of our obsession with weight loss, discussing how we must go beyond dieting into healing. How do we begin to heal? By understanding our food story. Alston shares her food story so others may share theirs. If we ignore our food story; we don’t address the root cause of our unhealthy eating practices. Our food story shapes our eating, and this book offers a way to shape our healing.
She chronicles her poverty-stricken upbringing where food was scarce and where food was punitive. Later in life, cancer and other diseases bought her to a place where food was medicine and a healing lifestyle.
Live, Beloved, Live explores basic questions on food and considers macronutrients like love and nature. Filled with life-sustaining wisdom, it communicates that the responsibility for our health lies in our hands. Our aspirations, vision board, or dream depends on our health. As every moment is an opportunity, every page is an inspiration. Feel inspired to cook, eat, and heal.
