As we spoke it struck me that there were three things that each of my successful friends had in common, and it didnt matter if theyd grown up rich or poor, what race they were, where they were born, if they were male or female, gay or straight. I mentioned this to my daughter, Emma, who was intrigued. Then I remembered that I had a presentation on my iPad called 19 Ideas for Success that I had shared for years with new stylists as well as beauty school and high school students, yet I had never shared it with her. I asked if shed be interested in hearing some of the wisdom Id acquired over the years. To my delight she said yes, and just like that this book was born.Though this book was inspired by a conversation with my 16 year old, the 25 ideas shared in this book allows anyone over 16 to find the keys to create a life they love. This book shares 25 ideas that help people create success that might still be asking themselves I dont know what I want to do when I get older and I dont know what to do with my life moments. As Artistic Director for a few of the top beauty brands in the world, including some Fortune 500 companies, I have been fortunate enough to teach in more than 15 countries on five continents. The advice Ill share in this book, is truly universal. I have collected these ideas from people Ive met in Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North America. Ive divided the book into three parts. In the first, which focuses on success, Ill share the three things that all of my successful friends have in common. In the second, which focuses on money, Ill share the three things that all of my friends who are financially secure have in common. In the third, Ill share the 19 ideas Ive collected over the years from very successful people who have kept me from getting in my own way as Ive moved through my life.
