Hunter Allen is a world-renowned cycling coach and author of the groundbreaking book Training
and Competing with a Continuous Glucose Monitor. He is the coauthor of the watershed and
bestselling book Training and Racing with a Power Meter, which has been translated into 12
languages. He has also coauthored two other books, Cutting-Edge Cycling and Triathlon:
Training with Power.
Widely known as one of the top experts in the world in coaching endurance athletes using
power meters, Hunter has been instrumental in developing and spreading the power training
principles, traveling to over 20 countries and teaching thousands of cycling coaches and riders.
Hunter has a passion for tech wearables and a unique ability to quickly learn and clearly
communicate the steps for using them effectively to others. A former professional cyclist on the
Navigators Team, Hunter has been coaching endurance athletes since 1995, and his athletes
have achieved more than 2,000 victories, numerous national and world championship titles, and
Olympic medals.
Ever on the leading edge of tech for athletics, he is a sought-after consultant for many
endurance-oriented tech companies and has worked with numerous companies to develop
products for the cycling world. Hunter is the co-developer of TrainingPeaks WKO software; is
the cofounder of TrainingPeaks Software; and is the founder and current owner of Peaks
Coaching Group.
Hunter holds a BA in economics from Randolph-Macon College and lives in Bedford, Virginia.
He has three young adult children, Thomas, Jack, and Susannah. In his spare time, he enjoys
driving, racing, tinkering with fast cars and motorcycles, and, of course, cycling around the
world!
