It was formulated to ensure that Central assistance is spent on focused areas and specific interventions that have been made for the development of agriculture across the states in the country. The MMA scheme has brought about tangible benefits for farmers and made a tremendous impact on agriculture in the country. Still, the scheme has lot of scopes for improvement, if the delivery mechanism of the scheme is strengthened.

Biographie de l'auteur

Dr. Komol Singha, Assistant Professor, Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore (India). Prior to this, he was teaching Economics in Royal University of Bhutan, Bhutan, St. Joseph's College, Kohima (India) and Don Bosco College, Manipur (India). He has 5 books and 21 research papers in the journals and over 50 papers in edited volumes
