This monograph presents a Novel Wavelet Based FiniteElement(WFE) approach for solving transientproblems arising in structural dynamics. This approach alleviates certain difficulties ofconventional finite element methodology (FEM) forsolving time dependent problems and proves to be apotential alternative to FEM in analyzing timedependent problems. This approach features theability of utilizing the capabilities of conventionalFEM andWavelets in providing a reliable solution. Thismethodology is examined for stability and has beendemonstrated for certain inertial and wave propagationapplications.
