Confidentiality, privacy and protection of personal information is currently a very relevant social phenomenon, given the technological and information systems development and the potential that these means have brought to the computer and analytical exploitation of data. The vulnerabilities created by the increasingly widespread and sophisticated adoption of information systems means that society is increasingly faced with numerous dilemmas associated with the transfer of personal data, a problem that is aggravated when it comes to personal health data.Data protection emerges as a way of preventing this risk of loss of privacy, and the new General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD) has been drawn up and consequently entered into force, establishing rules on the protection of personal data. Thus, this book aims to characterize the new RGPD, as well as to assess the degree of knowledge of managers of Portuguese health organizations, about the measures and mechanisms necessary for the protection of user information, within the framework of the RGPD.
