This thesis focuses primarily on the analysis of two Baroque novels - *Chourasche* by H. J. Christoffel von Grimmelshausen and *Falsette*, the origins of which remain unknown. By drawing upon and taking into account universally recognised picaresque characteristics, the aim is to identify and compare these in the respective works, with *Chourasche* serving as the starting point for an analysis of the novel *Falsette*. Individual picaresque features, defined in detailed theoretical chapters, are presented and explained on the basis of Grimmelshausen's novel, and compared to a similar extent with more or less analogous examples from *Falsette*. The aim of this endeavour is to answer the question regarding the as yet insufficiently clarified classification of the novel *Falsette*, with the intention of situating it within the genre of the picaresque novel.
