Paperback. I have enough of the story. Here is the full description: The Genius of Caleb Donovan: The Untouchable DroneOn a gray Saturday in March, fifteen-year-old Caleb Donovan stands at a card table in a high school gymnasium next to something small enough to fit on a dinner plate - a store-bought drone he picked up in pieces online. He calls it the Somersault. He asks the crowd to catch it.Nobody can.Not because it's fast. Because it's gone before their hands close. It reads intention - not where a hand is, but where it's going - and slips sideways, politely, before anyone finishes deciding to move. Three hundred people chase a child's toy around a gymnasium, laughing at themselves, while the boy with the cowlick and the helpless, hiccuping laugh watches from the side, delighted. He wins the science fair. Someone films it on a phone. Forty seconds of a boy and a drone, and eleven million people watch it before the weekend is over. One of those eleven million is Gary Holloway, a retired man in the bleachers who spent thirty years in work he doesn't talk about, and who understands, the moment the little drone slips through a closing hand, that a fifteen-year-old from a dying Ohio town has just demonstrated the end of air defense - off a two-hundred-dollar airframe, in front of a school banner, to a crowd of people who think it's a magic trick.Holloway makes a phone call from a cold parking lot. Walt Pearson answers in Washington. And the machine turns. What happens next happens fast and quiet, the way it's supposed to. The video disappears. Names travel through rooms with no windows. A folder gets created. A careful, lawful American machine moves to protect the boy - and in moving, rings a bell that certain patient people a long way from Rusk Falls, Ohio, have been straining to hear for years. Now there are new faces in town. A man called Carl Brandt asks the county office about the old mill. A second man, Viktor Dragunov, walks the streets at different hours, timing the route from the school to Sycamore Street and noting the blind spot forty feet long. A young woman named Olena Kovalenko watches from the edges and waits, with the particular patience of someone who believes she is doing the only right thing left in the world to do.And Caleb Donovan goes to school. He takes his chemistry quiz. He eats lunch with his best friend Buggs and walks Barbara partway home. He carries the only copy of his invention left in the world inside his head, down the same hallways he's walked for years, and laughs for all of them because stopping would be a flag. His father, Jonathon Donovan - a quiet man, a careful man, a lawyer who has spent nine years in the corner of the room watching - stands at the front window at night and watches the street. He knows how the careful machine works. He knows it is on his son's side. And he knows the thing every man who has ever worked in those gray rooms knows: that being on the right side and being safe are not the same thing, and that the distance between them is where his son now lives. The Genius of Caleb Donovan is a story about what happens when the most valuable child in the world is also just a kid - a kid with a cowlick and a laugh that gets away from him, who built something extraordinary in a garage in a town nobody drives to on purpose, and who now has to survive the world that extraordinary thing has opened up around him, with nothing but his father's judgment, his mother's quiet courage, and the particular stubbornness of a person who has been told too many times that nothing good comes from a place like this. After a teenager's homemade drone demonstrates impossible agility, a quiet life becomes a high-stakes battlefield as intelligence agencies and foreign operatives converge Shipping may be from our Sydney, NSW warehouse or from our UK or US warehouse, depending on stock availability.…

The problem is simple. Every machine that flies and dodges works by reacting — it sees the threat and moves. But reacting is always too slow. Caleb wants to build something that doesn’t have to react at all--something that reads the intention before the hand moves--something that is never where you’re going to be.
In seven weeks, in a cold garage, with parts ordered online, he figures it out.
He calls it the Somersault. He takes it to the regional science fair. Three hundred people try to catch it. Nobody can. Four cell phones are filming. By the next morning, eleven million people have watched the video, and the most valuable idea on earth is loose in the world.
Caleb’s father, Jonathon, watches the video alone in a basement. He spent nine years in Washington as a national security lawyer. He knows exactly what his son has built. He drives home too fast.
What follows is eleven days that will change everything. A foreign intelligence operative who works for the highest bidder. A young woman sent by a country at war, with a sister growing up in the sound of artillery. A corporate fixer who never breaks any laws and never takes any risks. The FBI, building a wall around a boy who is too smart to hide and too important to lose. And Jonathon Donovan, building a different kind of wall — the lawyer’s wall, brick by brick, late at night, while his family sleeps.
Caleb carries the secret. He goes to school. He eats lunch with Buggs. He walks Barbara partway home. He doesn’t tell anyone. He laughs for all of them anyway, because that is who he is, and stopping would have been a flag.
The Genius of Caleb Donovan: The Untouchable Drone is a story about a boy who built something extraordinary, and a family that decided what to do about it.
