Volumes III & IV (Fourteenth and Fifteenth Centuries) ? Very Good. Boards sound and attractive. Light toning to page edges consistent with age. Interiors clean and unmarked.
Volume V (Sixteenth Century) ? Good. Boards sound; cloth bright. This volume sustained minor moisture exposure, evidenced by waviness and light tide marking to the fore-edge and top edge page block, and moisture effect to the rear pastedown. Text block remains fully intact and legible throughout with no text loss. Moisture damage is confined entirely to this volume.
Volume VI (Sixteenth Century) ? Very Good. Examined carefully ? no moisture carry-over from Volume V. Boards sound, edges clean.
Volumes VII & VIII (Seventeenth Century) ? Very Good. Sound and attractive throughout. Light age toning to page edges only.

The set spans the full arc of Western intellectual history: Volumes I and II cover antiquity through the thirteenth century; Volumes III and IV the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries; Volumes V and VI the sixteenth century; and Volumes VII and VIII the seventeenth century.
