Volume I: October, 1971 edition from new plates. Book is in excellent condition for its age with age-toning to boards and pages; mild ordinary reference wear. There is bumping to the back bottom board at spine. Jacket is very bright and mostly clean with closed, tape-repaired tears along edges. Volume II: 1973, 7th printing, in jacket. Book is solid overall with some light creasing along spine and fading to the boards. There are a few pages that have waviness from previous contact with humidity/liquid, but in no way marred or text obscured. Some other, general wear but very nice overall. Volume II jacket has some chips missing at top and bottom spine, along edges; there is some staining to spine and along back edges jacket; some rubbing and wear. But both volumes are very nice, early vintage copies with Volume I being closer to very good condition and Volume II being mostly good.
