Setting out to illustrate how special-interest groups in the USA advocate policies that benefit themselves but inadvertently hurt the poor, this book shows how this inequity occurs in both product and labour markets - from subsidies to protectionist trade policies, and from drug prohibition to the government's provision of public education.
