Some foxing, mainly to text pages. Wear and some loss to corners of covers. ; No date [c1890]. Page dimensions: 286 x 216mm. Contains 8 chromolithograph illustrations: Collie Dogs; Shepherd's Dog in the Snow; A Distinguished Member of the Humane Society [St. Bernard]; Children with Rabbits; Dignity and Impudence [two dogs]; Suspense [a dog waiting by door]; Dash, Hector, Nero, and Lory [four dogs]; Return from the Warren [girl on horse and two dogs]. The "Children with Rabbits" picture is also used on the front cover. Each illustration leaf accompany by a leaf with a page of letterpress text. Sewn into early thick paper plain wrappers, which have nicely preserved the original front cover illustration. The original wrappers are present but detached and loose. Final plate and text leaf also detached and loose. Series title on front cover: "Nelsons' London Toy Books. One Shilling". On rear cover this title is also listed among "The Shlling Series" of T.
