These two booklets are mementoes of events hosted by the historically black Ruth Chapter No. 102 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Masonic appendant body open to both men and women. Both occasions were held at Big Bethel AME Church, the oldest African-American congregation in Sweet Auburn, a historic African-American neighborhood of Atlanta, named so by John Wesley Dobbs, who referred to it as the "richest Negro street in the world," home to one of the largest concentrations of Black-owned businesses in America.
