The fore edge of the textblock is unevenly trimmed, and was scraped near the middle, causing small rips of deformations in the pages with longer edges. Some minimal foxing on endpages. Otherwise, the text is clean and unmarked, with a firm hinges. The binding is somewhat loosened with age, and there is some separation/widening in the bottom-half of the gutter between the flyleaf and the half-title page (see photo), but there's no feeling of looseness or cracking in the binding mesh. Elsewhere in the text, there is no notable widening in gutters. The fabric on the hardcover boards is a bit discolored and toned around edges from age. Ink on spine and bottom board significantly rubbed. The jacket has small rips and chips along edges, at spine ends, and at forners. Rip in jacket at fore edge of back panel. Jacket heavily toned, and has some minor blemishing in spots. Dampstain on bottom of spine of jacket.
