Paperback. Etat : Very Good. This unique graphic memoir, titled "找不着北 CCTV洋主播的中国故事" (Can't Find North: CCTV Foreign Anchor's China Story), chronicles the fascinating journey of Edwin Maher, an experienced journalist and broadcaster, into the heart of Chinese media. The book captures his experiences and insights as a foreign anchor for CCTV, China's national television broadcaster.Maher's unexpected adventure began in March 2003 when a chance encounter with a China Radio International (CRI) broadcast led him to send his resume. Soon, he was in Beijing as a Voice Coach for CRI's English service, before moving to CCTV-9 in 2004 as a News Anchor and Voice Coach. With a career spanning back to 1965, including two decades at Australia's ABC, Maher brings a wealth of experience and a distinctive 'down under' perspective to his observations of China. In this compelling narrative, Maher shares not only his professional experiences during his first year in China but also his keen sense of humor and unique cultural observations. Despite being a 'Comic' by product type, the metadata does not specify an illustrator, focusing on Maher's personal story. This copy is a paperback in Very Good condition, offering a fascinating look at cross-cultural experiences through the eyes of a seasoned broadcaster. While not a first edition, it remains a valuable and insightful read for anyone interested in China, media, or personal memoirs.…
