Pp. 48(last colophon, verso blank), publisher's dragon device in green on title page, facsimile of the author's signature on p. 46; narrow demy 8vo; qr. rose cloth, spine lettered in gilt, off-white textured cloth boards, a trifle sprung, the top fore-corners slightly bruised; book label of David Levine, Sydney, on verso of upper free endpaper, top fore-corner of several leaves faintly creased; Emanuel Wax for Pendragon Press, London, 1968. First edition, limited to 2,000 numbered copies (1000 each for the UK and the USA). Baker & Ross A27a, binding b. *This copy out of series and not numbered, being the printer's file copy, from the offices of W. S. Cowell, with their 'File copy not to be taken away' label on the upper pastedown, showing three of the six production departments ticked off (design, text, binding). Loosely inserted within an envelope is a small plain card signed by Pinter, accompanied by a newspaper review of a [1994?] performance of the play at the National Theatre, London. The play was first performed on BBC radio in April 1968, starring Peggy Ashcroft and Eric Porter, directed by Guy Vaesen.
