Cream colored cloth over boards, with upper board and spine stamped in black and red. Mild edgewear to binding, with slight lean to spine. Red topstain. Toning to endpapers. Binding remains sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. A nice first printing copy in worn jacket of this response to the many letters requesting Doctor Hudson's journal after the publication of Douglas' first novel, Magnificent Obsession, which was twice adapted for film, the first in 1935 and starring Irene Dunne and Robert Taylor, the second in 1954 and starring Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson.
