Extremely rare Original folding photographic Panorama of Sword Beach (France North Coast Admiralty charts 2613 & F.1016 G.S.G.S. No 4250 Sheet 7E/5). Sectional panorama is complete with 13 photographic panels, each some 29 cms / 11.5 ins long, and 8 inches high ( 12.5 feet in length in total). Locations are noted including Le Hamel, Meuvaines, La Riviere, and strong points are also noted among other key positions. Attached as it should to green cloth book with original label to cover indicating Booklet D and date February 1944. Not often present is the target indicator template with instructions tipped-in at rear. Overall a very nice example of this rare and historic panorama secretly produced as part of the D-Day preparations. see images. Note Gold beach was the centre beach of five and one of three British / Canadian and French landing beaches. It took a hard and costly fight to secure on D-Day. Ships from the UK.
