First edition 8vo, including a letter by one of the former owners of the book relating anecdotal reference to Finedon Hall and the reading of the MS. Blue with much dulled cream spine and tipped in title, Marks, abraded wear bep partially detached, else sound binding, a bookplate inside front, two signatures to fep, the second being the presumed author of the above-mentioned letter. Label in poor condition. cxi+129pp. Frontispiece drawing by the Earl of Carlisle of the Curfew Tower at Windsor Castle seen from Eton and portrait of Dolben. Internals clean and fresh. Laid in memorial card for Dolben printed on the occasion of a ceremony held at the Parish church of St Mary the Virgin, Finedon on the 100th anniversary of the poet's death. Dolben died at the age of 19. He had been about to go up to Oxford. Robert Bridges was his cousin. Dolben was the object of affection (possibly even obsession) for Gerard Manley Hopkins.
