Ajouter au panier46 pages. Staple-bound paperback booklet: H 21.25cm x L 13.5cm. Off-white paper covers toned and soiled with a few small stains; spine ends nicked. Interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. Collection of approximately 66 poems and one song lyric by North Carrollton, Mississippi poet evidently written, as implied by the front cover title, between 1893-1959. A few poems are dated but most are not. Evidence of the author's residence is in the selection of some of the material, i.e. a poem about Greenwood LeFlore's mansion Malmaison evidently written prior to 1942 when it was destroyed by fire plus a poem regarding politician J.Z. George [James Z. George] and a lyric "J.Z. George High School Song." No publishing/printing statement provided but introductory line on page 1 announces "This book has been printed in loving memory of our mother, Rosemary Moss Neill" followed by ink signature "Lacy + Clifton." Rosemary "Maidee" Moss Neill was born in 1874 in Athens, Tennessee and died in Greenville, Mississippi in 1960 with her internment at Evergreen Cemetery, North Carrollton, Mississippi. Rosemary had six children with husband William Humphries Neill (1864-1938), the last of whom was Elizabeth Lacy Neill who, in 1932, married Clifton L. Langford, editor and publisher of the Bolivar Commercial newspaper in Cleveland, Mississippi. No copies located by OCLC as the book undoubtedly had a small print run probably for family members and friends only.
