Among the unique features of First Philosophy is a special chapter on the knowledge of being, in which emphasis is placed on the meaning and importance of the kind of "abstraction: that is peculiar to metaphysics alone, the all-persuasive character of the metaphysical 'judgement of separation,' and the intrinsically analogical character of first principles" (from the publisher).
