Dick Walker introduces his revolutionary techniques to the coarse fishing world, laying the foundation for the school of "specimen hunting" which has continued until the present day. This most important of post-war fishing books, the cornerstone of any coarse angling collection, includes many anecdotes, including the story of Walker's capture of the 44lb record carp from Redmire Pool in 1952. "He is an angler with a scientist's bent, who has always made his own fishing tackle, and it is against this background of scientific knowledge and craftsman's experience that he has worked out the theories that have now so successfully been put to the test." .
