Ajouter au panierSoft cover. Etat : Near Fine. 1st Edition. THE FANSCIENT #1 through #13/14 (the final issue). A complete set. All issues in Fine or nearly so. Published from 1947 through 1951. Complete sets are hard to put together and it took me several years to assemble this one (issue #2 was the hardest to find). THE FANSCIENT was a classic Science Fiction fanzine. Not only were there contributions by such notables as Forrest J Ackerman and Darrell Richardson, but there were also author profiles written by the authors themselves including: Ray Bradbury, Robert Bloch, A.E. van Vogt, Robert Heinlein, Murray Leinster, L. Sprague de Camp, Edward E. Smith, Jack Williamson, Theordore Sturgeon and Anthony Boucher. Forry Ackerman wrote about his visit to the set of DESTINATION MOON. Darrell Richardson wrote about Edgar Rice Burroughs and J. Allen St. John. Neil R. Jones wrote an outline of his future history stories, and much more along these lines. Issues had very few ads and much artwork, including some in full color. Issues were printed on good paper. Issue #1 and #2 are mimeo (undimmed, quite readable) and the rest are offset. All issues in nice shape with no excessive aging or stains. Issues #1 and #2 are 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, and 24 pages each. Issues #3 on are 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 and 32 pages each except for #9 which is 64 pages and the final issue, #13/14 which is 64 pages. The complete set comes out to 464 pages. Photos on request.
