Valentine.Aesop was a storyteller who is thought to have lived in ancient Greece around the 6th century BCE. He is best known for his collection of fables featuring anthropomorphic animals that illustrate moral lessons of honesty, wisdom and kindness. These fables have become enduring classics, continuing to be shared with generation after generation. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart. One or two handling marks to the boards, with a couple of spots of damp staining to rear boards. Rubbing and bumping to extremities. Joints strained, rear joint separated about four inches at the centre, and slightly at the extremities, but holding firm. Previous owner's inscription to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound.
