Red cloth spine with a few spots of mottling but retaining bright gilt stamped lettering; off-white paper covered boards with front board having color illustration of a man and woman (the latter similar in style to a Gibson girls) credited to illustrator Henry Hutt. Mild soiling to boards with corners worn; a few light stains to front board but with strong moisture stain along rear board's bottom margin and small shallow stain at top margin. Edges toned; slender brown staining along fore-edge margins of rear pastedown and opposing rear free endpaper verso; past owner's ink signature upon front free endpaper; a few scattered spots of soiling and slight foxing to interior pages which, overall, remain clean. Binding is firm. A very good- copy. Features thirteen uncredited plates on unpaged leaves including two color plates, one of which (between pages 30-31) may be by Henry Hutt as well as it again shares a Gibson Girl motif similar to the credited front board illustration. An advertising/promotional book pushing adult (mostly female but some male too) and baby skin care and soap products (particularly John H. Woodbury's facial soap) on behalf of the Andrew Jergens Company better known as just Jergens which is now part of Kao USA Inc. OCLC only cites seven copies among member libraries.
