No Binding. Etat : Very Good. 1st Edition. Offered is an original one-page typed and signed letter dated July 12, 1986 from Armando Trevino Rendon, of Houston, Texas, to [Dr.] Antonio Rios-Bustamante, Executive Director of the California Museum of Latino History in Los Angeles, California. Measuring 8-1/2" by 14" and typed in capital letters, the letter reads in full: "Dear Sir, A recent article was brought to my attention which conveyed your aspirations and goals with regard to a Latino Museum of History. The Project is one which is long overdue and I can only trust that you will meet with great success in this task. I write to you only in the slim hope that I might influence you to consider Latino History to the point at which it flourished prior to the conquest of the Americas by the Spaniards. The history of our Race has long been clouded and degraded by the historians with old world ties. But it is an undeniable fact that the American Race of people were far advanced in all fields save for the one which helped bring about their demise: Warfare. The philosophical foundation of the American Latinos was so far advanced that modern Western philosophy only now begins to approach its rich and eloquent beauty. There is much that we Latinos can be proud of with regard to our history and heritage. I can only hope that you and your associates will not exclude that American era which has always been so blatantly ignored or misrepresented by traditional historians. In any case please let me extend to you my best wishes and good fortune in the noble endeavor upon which you have embarked. Suerte, Sincerely Yours, Armando Trevino Rendon [signed in blue pen] [with his typed address in Houston, Texas]." Mr. Rendon's name and address also appears embossed to the upper right corner of the letter. Previously folded twice for mailing purposes; several corner creases.…
