This handsome Oxford paperback collects together the work of three outstanding British poets, Austin Clarke of Dublin, Ireland; Charles Tomlinson of Stoke-on-Trent; and Tony Connor or Salford Lancashire. This is the First Edition, published in 1964. ******************************** Austin Clarke was well established in the Dublin literary scene, where he founded the Dublin Verse Speaking Society, and ran the Lyric Theatre Company at the famous Abbey Theatre. Charles Tomlinson, came out of an academic background, wherein he was Lecturer at the University of Bristol. His poem are highly regarded and he was an accomplished translator.
