This copy is in very good condition with some time and handling wear showing to the red cloth covers . . . the front cover shows several small spots and possibly the result of just a touch of spilled liquid although VERY slight . . . the edges of the covers show just a bit of time wear and one corner shows a modest bump. The interior of the book is in very good condition with the pages showing very little time wear. The numbers illustrations are all present . . . the one illustration page is somewhat loose. Beyond that the text shows no markings and the pages are at least very good. A nice copy of this interesting and entertaining look-back at the authors journey to California in 1849 . . . his life and career. The book shows one colored photograph laid in loose of a large two-story house . . . possibly the authors. 359 pages.
