Entrusted with royal commissions, he created some of the most iconic images of his time. His works were praised and sought after by distinguished art collectors of his time throughout Europe. In 2017, the J. Paul Getty Museum in collaboration with the Musée de Louvre dedicated him an exhibition in Los Angeles. Bouchardon worked a good deal with Gabriel Huquier, who in 1737 began engraving several series of prints after his drawings.
