An uncommon account of the Great War, based around the experiences of four of the author's relatives, one of whom spent the war in India, a second died after the second Battle of Ypres, a third was killed in the opening attack of the Battle of Loos and a fourth was taken prisoner during the German advance of April 1918.

First edition hard back binding in publisher's original black paper covered boards, blocked and lettered gilt back. 8vo. 9½'' x 6¼''. Contains [xvi], 631 pp with monochrome photographs throughout. Donation copy directly from the publisher to Kent Arts Archive Library, Canterbury, Kent.
