Amüsant poppige Posterkollektion im typischen Stil der 60'er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts. Während einzelne Poster am Markt durchaus anzutref…fen sind, ist die komplette Mappe, dazu mit signierten Exemplaren sehr selten.- "Im Jahr 1968, als die Revolte der Neuen Linken und der Studenten in Amerika und Europa kulminierte, holte Buchheim mit seinen schrillen PiPaPop-Postern zum artistisch getarnten Rundumschlag aus. Denn hinter ihrer bunten und sinnenfrohen Fassade entpuppt sich die Imagerie des damals 50jährigen "Malergraphikerautorverlegers" (Buchheim) als humorvoll gewandeter Protest eines unabhängigen und einzelgängerischen Geistes, den das Diktat des Kunstmarktes sowie des scheinbar Neuen und Progressiven ebenso mit Skepsis erfüllt wie dogmatisch verfochtene politische Doktrinen. Moralisierende Sprüche aus dem gutbürgerlichen Fundus der Gründerzeit und der Jahrhundertwende werden von Buchheim gleichermaßen respektlos entstellt und verballhornt wie die Slogans und Trends der Jungen. Das naive "Make love not war" der Flower Power-Apologeten etwa wird abgewandelt zum messerscharf analysierenden "Make money with war". Dazu verdrallt Buchheim mit großem Spaß die Errungenschaften von Pop und Op, verschränkt sie mit Versatzstücken aus alten Bilderbögen und Zeitschriften und statuiert so ein Exempel dessen, was er unter "Pop(ular)Art" versteht. Der Erfolg des Buchheimschen Pop war groß und beflügelte den Künstler. Nach einer ersten Ausstellung in der Münchner Galerie Thomas (1968) schuf Buchheim in einem Zug an die 70 weitere Plakate und schickte sie auf Ausstellungstournee. Der Vertrieb der PiPaPop-Plakate, denen bald poppige Kalender und Postkarten folgen sollten, erstreckte sich bis in die USA. Die Kabinettausstellung im Buchheim Museum kombiniert erstmals Buchheims Poster mit den Bildträgern, die für den Druck der Lithographien erforderlich sind. Wie beim herkömmlichen Flachdruck wird für jede Farbe eine "Platte" benötigt. Doch zeichnete Buchheim seine Bilder nicht auf Stein wie einst die berühmten "Maîtres de l'Affiche", die um 1900 in Paris das künstlerisch gestaltete Plakat inaugurierten. Er verwendete transparente Folien, auf die er seine Motive malte, zeichnete oder montierte. Die changierenden Farbfelder wurden mittels Irisdruck - die Farben werden unmittelbar in der Maschine gemischt - in einem separaten Druckvorgang auf das Papier gedruckt. So sind unwiederholbare Unikate entstanden." (aus der Pressemitteilung des Buchheim Museums zur Austellung der Plakate im Jahr 2007).- Interessant die Einschätzung eines zeitgenössischen Kritikers in der "Zeit" vom 17.05.1968: "Es besteht kein Zweifel, daß der Erwerb stilechter, alter Plakate auch vom Standpunkt der Kapitalanlage eine reizvolle Angelegenheit ist. Die Aussicht auf eine rasche Wertsteigerung ist um so größer, als neuerdings so etwas wie eine Plakat-Renaissance eingesetzt hat, die gerade das alte, künstlerisch wertvolle Plakat in einem neuen Lichte erscheinen läßt. Bei den meisten 'Plakaten', die gegenwärtig den deutschen Markt überschwemmen, handelt es sich freilich um Druckerzeugnisse, die mit Plakaten im eigentlichen Sinne nichts gemein haben, allenfalls das Format. Es wäre schade, wenn der 'Poster-Rummel', von dem der westdeutsche Markt augenblicklich (Buch)heimgesucht wird (der Verleger Buchheim hat es mit seiner Pi-Pa-Pop-Kollektion verstanden, sich die Poster-Welle zunutze zu machen, wobei zugestanden sei, daß seine pseudojugendstilistischen Kreationen alle anderen Posters an Geschmack- und Phantasielosigkeit bei weitem überragen), den Blick für das künstlerisch wertvolle Plakat, verstellen würde. Im Unterschied zu dem (Pi-Pa-Pop-) Posters, mit denen man hierzulande Plakatfreunden das Geld aus der Tasche zu locken versucht und die nicht die geringste Aussicht auf Bestand haben, gibt es eine Vielzahl von Plakaten vor allem amerikanischer Künstler, die ihre Museumsweihe empfangen haben."- Tadellos erhalten.
