D'autant plus lorsqu'on sait que le grand Jasper y a consacré, trente ans plus tard, un énorme et magistral ouvrage. Il est bien évident qu'un élève de vingt-trois ans n'avait ni la maturité ni la science nécessaires pour traiter d'un pareil sujet ! Ce fut le tournant de mon orientation. Philologue, mais d'un tempérament plutôt actif, quand j'ai rencontré une phénoménologie et une philosophie actives, agissantes, positives bienfaisantes et riches de toutes les promesses de la psychanalyse, j'ai choisi l'aventure et l'action. J'ai vite compris que je devais être médecin. En France, à cette époque, 1936-1938, seuls les médecins abordaient ce domaine. Ainsi, ai-je rencontré le professeur Pierre Janet que j'accompagnais - il avait quatre vingt cinq ans - un dimanche matin de Sainte-Anne au métro. Il marchait de son petit pas vif en disant : « Mon cher collègue, est-ce que je ne vais pas trop vite ? ». Puis il m'a reçu chez lui. Je suis allé voir également Allendy. Er studierte Medizin und arbeitete von 1900 bis 1909 an der psychiatrischen Klinik der Universität Zürich (Burghölzli). 1905 bis 1913 war er Dozent an der Universität Zürich, 1933 bis 1942 Titularprofessor an der ETH und 1943 Ordentlicher Professor für Psychologie in Basel. Jung gehört mit Sigmund Freud und Alfred Adler zu den drei Wegbereitern der modernen Tiefenpsychologie. Er entwickelte nach der Trennung von Sigmund Freud (1913) die eigene Schule der Analytischen Psychologie. C. G. Jung starb am 6. Juni 1961 in Küsnacht.
