Diese Ausgabe ist mit 90 (und nicht 91) Tafeln komplett da Tafel 29 / 30 auf 1 Blatt abgebildet sind. ?Siebold, (Prof. in Berlin, Marburg und Göttingen), nimmt in der Geschichte der Geburtshilfe eine ganz eigenthümliche Stellung ein. Ein Kind der naturphilos. Med. . besass er eine allgemeine classische Bildung, die, theilweise an den Polyhistorismus des 18. Jahrhunderts erinnernd, ihn weit über seine Zeitgenossen stellte und ihren Ausfluss in seiner grossen literarisch-historischen Thätigkeit fand. Als das vorzüglichste Product dieser seiner Richtung gilt sein bis heute noch unerreichtes und unübertroffenes Werk: «Versuch einer Geschichte der Geburtshülfe» (Garr.-M. 6288), durch welches er sich den Ehrenplatz eines medizinischen Classikers sicherte. .
