Hardback. Etat : New. Hard Cover. Book Palace Books August 2024. Deluxe Limited Collectors' edition of 500 copies Limited Edition. Book condition: New. Black & White illustrations. Tales of Greyfriars' "Owl of the Remove" with complete Billy Bunter comic strips from the Comet. Billy Bunter had a long career at Fleetway. He began in hugely popular text stories and then went on to further fame as a purely slapstick character in the pages of Knockout and Valiant, where his depiction was almost totally unrelated to his original conception. The strips that appeared in Comet take us firmly back to the roots that established the popularity of the characters: exciting dramatic adventures featuring not only Billy Bunter but also the cast of other Greyfriars characters. This volume comprises the very best of the Comet Billy Bunter dramatic strips, including all those drawn by Reg Bunn and C.H. Chapman that most admirers would consider the pick of the crop, or as Billy Bunter might say, the icing on the cake The Famous Five by Reg Bunn Greyfriars School by Charles Henry Chapman Bunter of Greyfriars by Charles Henry Chapman A Book Palace Books publication. 224 pages. Size: 9" x 11" (216mm x 280mm). (1.3). Reg Bunn, Charles Henry Chapman (illustrateur).…

Buch. Etat : Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The only book to deal comprehensively with insect feeding was published by C. T. Brues in 1946. His Insect Dietary was an account of insect feeding habits. Since that time there has been a revolution in biology, and almost all aspects of our understanding of insect feeding have expanded to an extent and into areas that would have been unthinkable in Brues' day. Yet, our book does not replace Insect Dietary but, instead, complements it, because our aim is to bring together information on the mechanisms by which food quality and quantity are regulated. We deliberately focus attention on the feeding process; to include food-finding would have required a much larger book and would have moved the focus away from more proximate mechanisms. This book is dedicated to the late Vincent G. Dethier. As a pioneer in studying the physiological basis of animal behavior, he focused on regulation of feeding in flies and caterpillars. His work on the blowfly, together with that by his many students andco-workers, still provides the most completely described mechanism of insect feeding. The citation of his work in almost every chapter in this book illustrates the importance of his findings and ideas to our current understanding of regulation of insect feeding. The authors in this book provide many innovative and stimulating ideas typifying Dethier's approach to the study of feeding be havior.…
