The author was a longtime educator, who taught in Japan, China, India and England; his most famous book was "The Sexual Impulse," published in England in 1935, which led to the prosecution of his publishers for obscenity. Is it worth noting that the publishers misspell their own name on the title page and copyright page ("Shephard" instead of "Shepard")? They got it right on the binding. …
