Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very good. First edition. An association copy, inscribed on the verso of the front free endpaper: "To Dr. Clyde Fisher, with many thanks for the great pleasure his lecture gave me last Sunday, Maribelle Cormack." George Clyde Fisher was a curator at the American Museum of Natural History and then the first head of the Hayden Planetarium at the AMNH. As such a nice association association between museum leaders, as Cormack was the head of the children's department at the Park Museum in Providence, RI. Written for youth, this book tells the tale of a meadow mouse who enters a museum, whereupon all the animals in the dioramas come to life and tell the mouse about their life histories. With a brief preface by Anna Botsford Comstock and wonderful illustrations on every page by Henry J. Meloy. Orange cloth with black lettering and cat illustration on the front board. A very good plus copy with some fainting soiling and light sunning to spine, lacking the dust jacket.
