BBC External Services, Bush House, Strand, London W.C.2. written on headed notepaper from 46 Southway, London, NW11 6SA dated 2nd December 1982 and consisting of about 34 words in which Mansell supplies Harman Grisewood's address. Two further signed handwritten letters from Ian Jacob to Tony Cox loosely inserted. The first addressed from The Red House, Woodbridge dated 4. 1. 83 and contained in its original handwritten envelope addressed to Tony Cox at Bush House consists of about 150 words in which Jacob's thanks Cox for concerning himself with his video recorder problem. He says he very much enjoyed the party at Bush House (see invitation below) seeing many old hands from the '46-'48 period Ð 'I hope the next 50 years will be as valuable as the first Ð I expect there will be great technical changes, but I am sure the BBC will keep in the fore-front of them.' The second letter written on headed notepaper from The Red House, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 4AD dated 23. 3. 83 with stamp stating received 25. 3. 83 consists of about 50 words in which Jacob thanks Cox for advising him about the repair of his video recorder which is now working perfectly. Loosely inserted printed invitation from Lord Weidenfeld [to Tony Cox] to a reception to mark the publication of 'Let Truth Be Told' by Gerard Mansell at 11.00 am on Tuesday 23 November in the BBC Club, Bush House, Aldwych. Newspaper cutting of an obituary of Sir Ian Jacob (1899 Ð 1993) who was Director-General of the BBC from 1952 to 1959. Harman Grisewood (1906 Ð 1997) was controller of the BBC Third Programme from 1948 to 1952. Tony Cox was a BBC producer.
